The Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) Preparatory Course
The Entomological Society of America (ESA), the largest organization in the world serving the professional and scientific needs of entomologists and people in related disciplines, authorized Bug Off Pest Control Center to develop and deliver training for the Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) exam. Bug Off Pest Control Center was the first private institution to deliver this ESA-Authorized Course in the United States.
The ESA created the ACE program in order to make entomological certification possible for the practicing Pest Management Professional (PMP). In order to qualify, the candidate had to have at least 7 years of pest management experience, a current Applicator’s license and be able to pass a rigorous exam designed to test them on practical aspects of applied entomology.
The ACE Course was held March 25th, 2008 in New York City. Over 100 attendees from the New York Metropolitan area, New England and as far away as Florida attended this special event. The Course covered the major categories of competency found in the exam and was presented by Joseph Barile, a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) and ranking member of the Society.
